The Elite Job is seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-oriented Airport Customer Service Agent to join our dynamic team at Cape Town International Airport. In this role, you will be the face of our partner airlines, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for passengers during their journey. This includes providing information, assisting with check-ins, boarding procedures, baggage services, and addressing passenger concerns with efficiency and professionalism.
Greet and assist passengers at check-in counters and boarding gates.
Provide accurate information regarding flight details, airline policies, and airport procedures.
Assist with baggage handling inquiries, including lost or delayed luggage.
Support passengers with special needs, including the elderly and those with reduced mobility.
Resolve customer complaints or redirect to the appropriate department when necessary.
Operate airline computer systems to check-in passengers and print boarding passes.
Ensure compliance with all airport security and safety procedures.
Collaborate with airline and airport staff to ensure smooth passenger flow.
Handle travel documentation and confirm passenger identification according to regulations.
Matric Certificate or equivalent (minimum requirement).
Proficient in English; additional languages such as Afrikaans or Xhosa are a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Basic computer literacy and familiarity with booking/check-in systems (training provided).
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Valid South African ID or work permit.
1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
Experience in aviation, hospitality, or travel industry is an advantage but not mandatory.
Recent graduates with strong communication skills and eagerness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Full-time position (40–45 hours per week).
Rotational shifts including weekends, public holidays, early mornings, and late evenings.
Flexibility with scheduling is essential due to the nature of airport operations.
Strong knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Ability to remain calm and polite in high-stress situations.
Awareness of cultural diversity and sensitivity in dealing with international passengers.
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to high service standards.
