Based in Chicago (but open to remote candidates within the U.S.), this role focuses on creating compelling, high-quality content that drives engagement, supports marketing initiatives, and aligns with our brand voice. Research, write, edit, and proofread content for blogs, websites, social media, email campaigns, product descriptions, and more.
Develop creative and engaging content strategies tailored to various target audiences.
Collaborate with the marketing, design, and SEO teams to align content with business goals and optimize for search engines.
Stay updated on industry trends to ensure timely, relevant content creation.
Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Maintain and enforce Progressive Technologys brand voice and tone across all content.
Conduct interviews when necessary to produce original pieces or case studies.
Assist in the development of content calendars and campaign plans.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how to implement keywords naturally.
Ability to research and quickly grasp complex technical or industry-specific topics.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong collaboration and communication abilities across different teams.
Ability to adapt tone, style, and voice based on target audience and platform.
Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of professional content writing experience (freelance or in-house).
Experience writing for technology, software, or digital marketing industries is a plus.
Portfolio showcasing a variety of writing styles and formats required.
Full-time position (40 hours per week).
Flexible schedule with core collaboration hours between 10 AM – 3 PM CST.
100% remote work; occasional virtual meetings and team check-ins required.
Expertise in content management systems (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot).
Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance metrics and suggest improvements.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
