Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced Medical Biller and Payment Poster with a strong background in Physical Therapy billing. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full revenue cycle process, including accurate billing, timely posting of payments, insurance follow-ups, and denial resolution. Accurately process and submit electronic and paper claims for Physical Therapy services to insurance providers.
Review and verify patient insurance coverage, authorizations, and eligibility.
Post payments from insurance companies, patients, and other third-party payers into the billing system with a high level of accuracy.
Identify and resolve claim denials and rejections; resubmit or appeal as necessary.
Follow up on unpaid claims through insurance portals, phone calls, and correspondence.
Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly payment reports.
Communicate effectively with therapists, front desk staff, and insurance representatives regarding billing issues.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Stay current with payer policies, CPT/ICD-10 code changes, and industry best practices.
Strong understanding of insurance billing, payment posting, and follow-up procedures.
In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, specifically for Physical Therapy.
Proficiency with billing software (such as Kareo, WebPT, Therabill, or similar platforms).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing and payment posting, preferably in a Physical Therapy setting.
Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, private payers, and workers compensation is essential.
Familiarity with denial management and AR follow-up processes.
Full-Time: 35–40 hours per week
Flexible schedule within standard business hours (Monday to Friday)
Occasional extended hours may be required during billing cycles or special projects
Solid understanding of the full revenue cycle process
Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Remittance Advice (RA) statements
Skilled in identifying errors and taking corrective action promptly
