Job Summary

Progressive Technology, in collaboration with Stone Press, is seeking a meticulous and creative Freelance Content Editor to support our editorial team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for reviewing and refining high-quality digital content across a range of B2B and technical subject areas. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a deep understanding of content strategy, SEO, and editorial standards, and who take pride in shaping impactful, authoritative content for a global audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread blog posts, guides, and technical content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in tone and style.

• Collaborate with writers to provide constructive feedback, ensuring alignment with Stone Presss editorial guidelines.

• Optimize content for SEO while maintaining natural readability and engagement.

• Fact-check and validate sources to maintain credibility and trustworthiness.

• Format content for publication within CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).

• Help maintain the editorial calendar and ensure timely content delivery.

• Implement revisions quickly based on team or client feedback.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and syntax.

• Strong understanding of editorial standards, style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual), and SEO principles.

• Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS), especially WordPress.

• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a general audience.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Self-motivated with a strong eye for detail.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in content editing or digital publishing.

• Prior experience working in B2B, SaaS, or tech-related industries is preferred.

• Freelance or remote work experience is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Flexible working hours — you manage your own schedule.

• Commitment of 15–25 hours per week, depending on workload and availability.

• Deadlines will be clearly defined, with the autonomy to structure your workflow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth understanding of content marketing and SEO best practices.

• Familiarity with content performance metrics and digital publishing tools.

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate across time zones.

• Familiarity with tools such as Grammarly, Hemingway, Surfer SEO, or Clearscope is a plus.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new editing frameworks and editorial processes.
