Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a dynamic, trend-savvy TikTok Trend Researcher to join our remote digital strategy team. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes TikTok, has an eye for emerging trends, and can turn social signals into strategic insights. You will be responsible for tracking viral content, analyzing engagement metrics, and reporting actionable findings to our content and marketing teams. Your expertise will help guide creative decisions and influence the direction of short-form video campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor TikTok daily to identify and log trending videos, sounds, challenges, hashtags, creators, and emerging content themes.

• Create comprehensive trend reports with data-backed analysis and strategic insights.

• Work closely with content creators and marketing teams to suggest trend-based ideas for campaign development.

• Track competitor activity and industry-related viral trends.

• Use social listening tools to assess the virality and lifecycle of trends.

• Maintain a daily trend dashboard with visuals, performance data, and timelines.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to brief teams on evolving trends and opportunities.

• Proactively pitch content concepts inspired by ongoing TikTok activity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Deep familiarity with TikToks platform, culture, and ecosystem.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize patterns and translate them into clear summaries.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to present insights in a clear, concise, and visually appealing format (PowerPoint, Notion, or Google Slides).

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced digital environment.

• Ability to balance creativity with data-driven decision-making.

• Up-to-date knowledge of Gen Z internet culture, memes, influencers, and pop culture.

Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in social media research, content strategy, digital marketing, or similar fields is preferred.

• Freshers or recent graduates with a strong TikTok presence or passion for trend-spotting are welcome to apply.

• Portfolio, trend logs, or personal TikTok account showcasing awareness of trends is a plus.

Working Hours

• Flexible hours with a focus on being available during key trend cycles (especially early morning or late evening time zones).

• Must be available for weekly team sync-ups and report submissions.

• Estimated commitment: 20–40 hours per week depending on full-time or part-time status.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of TikTok algorithm, community guidelines, and best practices.

• Comfortable with trend analysis tools such as TrendTok Analytics, Google Trends, or similar.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize research across multiple content categories (lifestyle, tech, fashion, gaming, etc.).

• Familiarity with other short-form platforms like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts is a plus.
