Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a passionate and dedicated Online Tutor to provide academic reinforcement (reforço escolar) for high school students (Ensino Médio). This role involves delivering personalized, interactive, and effective online tutoring sessions that help students improve their understanding of core subjects and boost their academic performance. The ideal candidate will be skilled at engaging students remotely, tailoring lessons to individual learning needs, and fostering a positive and motivating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct live, one-on-one or small group online tutoring sessions focused on high school subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Portuguese, and other relevant areas.

• Assess students academic strengths and weaknesses to design customized lesson plans and learning activities.

• Provide clear explanations, answer questions, and clarify difficult concepts to ensure comprehension.

• Track student progress and provide timely feedback to students and their parents/guardians.

• Motivate and encourage students to build confidence and maintain interest in learning.

• Prepare and utilize appropriate teaching materials and digital resources to enhance lessons.

• Maintain professional communication and rapport with students and their families.

• Stay updated with current educational practices and curriculum standards for high school education.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Education, Teaching, or the specific subject area to be tutored (Mathematics, Science, etc.) preferred.

• Prior experience tutoring high school students, particularly in an online setting, is highly desirable.

• Strong command of the Portuguese language, both written and spoken.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students remotely.

• Proficient in using digital tools and online learning platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or proprietary software).

• Patient, adaptable, and able to tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently.

• Commitment to student success and continuous professional development.

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of tutoring or teaching experience, especially with high school students.

• Experience with remote/online education platforms is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with the Brazilian high school curriculum (Ensino Médio) is preferred.

Working Hours

• Flexible part-time or full-time schedules based on student demand.

• Availability during afternoons, evenings, and weekends to accommodate students school schedules.

• Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes.

• Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule for student continuity is preferred.
