Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is seeking a highly proficient and culturally fluent Virtual Translator – English ↔ Yoruba to support remote translation and interpretation tasks across digital platforms. As a translator, you will play a key role in breaking language barriers by ensuring clear and accurate communication for our diverse client base. Key Responsibilities

• Translate written and audio content from English to Yoruba and vice versa with a high degree of accuracy.

• Review and edit translated materials to maintain quality and tone consistency.

• Provide live interpretation for virtual meetings, video calls, and recorded content when required.

• Localize website, app, or marketing content to resonate with Yoruba-speaking audiences.

• Maintain confidentiality and cultural relevance in all communications.

• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other translators to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality output.

• Use digital tools and software to manage assignments and translations efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Fluency in both English and Yoruba (written and spoken) is mandatory.

• Excellent grammar, syntax, and vocabulary in both languages.

• Strong comprehension of cultural nuances, dialects, and idiomatic expressions.

• Proficiency in using translation tools and online communication platforms.

• Ability to work independently and deliver under strict deadlines.

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in translation or interpretation services (freelance or employed).

• Experience working with international clients or multilingual content is preferred.

• Familiarity with subtitle creation or transcription is an added advantage.

Working Hours

• Flexible scheduling available: Choose between part-time or full-time work.

• Most assignments will be deadline-based, with occasional real-time interpretation during standard business hours (GMT/WAT preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of both Western and Yoruba cultural contexts.

• Ability to convey tone, emotion, and meaning beyond direct word-for-word translation.

• Competence in using MS Office, Google Workspace, and remote collaboration tools like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

• Capable of managing multiple projects with varying priorities.
