Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is hiring enthusiastic and service-oriented Front Desk Executives to join a prestigious 5-star international cruise line. This is a guest-facing role ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, multicultural environments and are passionate about hospitality. As the first point of contact for guests onboard, you will play a crucial role in delivering world-class service and ensuring an exceptional guest experience while traveling across the globe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon check-in and assist with all boarding formalities.

  • Provide information on ship amenities, daily events, shore excursions, and onboard services.

  • Handle guest requests, inquiries, and complaints with professionalism and empathy.

  • Manage reservations, room assignments, and guest accounts using specialized cruise management software.

  • Maintain accurate records, process payments, and ensure smooth guest check-outs.

  • Coordinate with housekeeping, food and beverage, and other departments to meet guest needs.

  • Maintain cleanliness, decorum, and a welcoming atmosphere at the reception area.

  • Support multilingual communication and provide translation assistance if applicable.

  • Uphold the cruise lines standard of service excellence and guest satisfaction at all times


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree/diploma in hospitality or tourism is preferred.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus (e.g., Spanish, German, French).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient with computers and hospitality management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, or similar).

  • Ability to stay calm and solution-oriented in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Excellent grooming, presentation, and etiquette.


Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in front desk or guest service roles within the hospitality, aviation, or cruise industry.

  • Previous cruise ship experience will be considered a significant advantage.

  • Freshers with strong communication skills and a passion for hospitality may also be considered.


Working Hours

  • Rotational shifts (Morning, Evening, and Night), 8–10 hours per day, 6 days a week.

  • Contract duration: Typically 6–9 months onboard with scheduled breaks.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of international guest service standards.

  • Knowledge of check-in/check-out procedures and guest account management.

  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to interact with guests of various nationalities.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to new challenges at sea.

  • Team-oriented with a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
