Flipkart, Indias leading e-commerce marketplace, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Category Manager to lead strategic merchandising, pricing, and vendor management for key product verticals. This role requires deep commercial acumen, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build high-impact partnerships with brands and sellers. You will be instrumental in shaping assortment strategy, driving category growth, and delivering best-in-class customer experience across Flipkarts digital shelves.
Own the P&L of the assigned category and drive revenue, profitability, and market share targets.
Build and execute short- and long-term category plans, identifying key growth drivers and innovation areas.
Develop and manage relationships with key brand partners and sellers, including negotiating commercials, driving joint business planning, and resolving operational issues.
Monitor category performance using data analytics; recommend and implement pricing, assortment, and promotion strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Product, and Tech teams to ensure seamless execution and exceptional customer experience.
Identify emerging trends and customer preferences to introduce new products and enhance assortment depth.
Optimize inventory, drive efficient demand forecasting, and maintain healthy stock levels to ensure availability and reduce supply chain costs.
Plan and execute major event strategies (e.g., Big Billion Days, Festive Sales) to deliver category excellence.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
MBA or Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institute is preferred.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and vendor negotiation skills.
Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and a sharp eye for detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools (SQL knowledge is a plus).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic environment.
Minimum 3–7 years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, e-Commerce, Retail, or FMCG.
Proven track record of P&L ownership and strategic category growth in a digital-first environment.
Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Flexibility may be required during peak sales periods, campaigns, and special event launches.
Hybrid model with remote flexibility depending on role deliverables and team structure.
Deep understanding of consumer behavior, category economics, and supply chain levers.
Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to make data-driven decisions quickly.
Strong leadership and collaboration abilities to work across multifunctional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines in a matrixed setup.
