Job Summary

Flipkart, a leader in e-commerce innovation and customer-centric solutions, is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Accounting Specialist to join our remote finance team. In this role, you will manage daily financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support the accounting team in ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about delivering precise financial reporting that drives business decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and on time.

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Monitor and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, company policies, and statutory requirements.

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting initiatives.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP preferred).

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar.

  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and financial modeling.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.


Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management.

  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or tech industries is a plus.

  • Prior experience working remotely or in a distributed team environment is advantageous.


Working Hours

  • Flexible remote work schedule.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines and attend virtual meetings during business hours (IST/other applicable time zones as per Flipkart team coordination).

  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
