Scalesforth is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Virtual Bookkeeper to join our growing remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting our clients financial operations. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility while working in a collaborative virtual environment.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
Prepare and maintain financial reports, summaries, and spreadsheets for management and clients.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations where applicable.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms).
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, accounting regulations, and financial reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a remote environment.
Minimum of 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with remote work exposure.
Experience handling multiple client accounts is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software and digital financial tools.
Flexible work-from-home schedule, generally 8 hours per day.
Occasional availability required for client meetings or financial reporting deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping processes and accounting principles.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify financial discrepancies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other productivity tools.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to managing financial tasks.
