Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Remote Desktop Support Engineer to provide exceptional remote IT support to clients across India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to desktops, laptops, networks, and software applications. This role is perfect for individuals who excel in problem-solving, communication, and delivering top-notch customer service in a fully remote work environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote desktop support to end users through phone, chat, and ticketing systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.

  • Assist with installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining operating systems and applications.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems.

  • Troubleshoot VPN, printer, email, and remote-access related issues.

  • Log all support requests, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.

  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level engineers when required.

  • Guide users with step-by-step instructions to resolve technical challenges.

  • Maintain compliance with company IT policies, security protocols, and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Ensure timely follow-ups and high customer satisfaction for every case handled.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of Windows and/or macOS environments.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware issues.

  • Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

  • Experience with remote support tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or RDP.

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (JIRA, Zendesk, ServiceNow, etc.).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently while working remotely.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.


Experience

  • 0–3 years of experience in IT support, technical helpdesk, or desktop support.

  • Freshers with strong technical knowledge and willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.


Working Hours

  • Standard work hours: 8–9 hours per day.

  • May require rotational shifts based on client requirements.

  • Flexibility to work weekends or late evenings during high-demand periods is a plus.
