DoorDash is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Software Engineer – Cloud Security Engineering to join our rapidly growing security team. In this role, you will help design, implement, and maintain cloud security solutions that protect DoorDashs infrastructure, applications, and sensitive data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure security is embedded into the entire software development lifecycle, while contributing to the evolution of security best practices across the organization.

Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
Develop automated security tools, scripts, and processes to detect vulnerabilities and enhance system resilience.
Collaborate with software engineers to integrate security controls and best practices into application design and deployment pipelines.
Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, incidents, and emerging threats in cloud environments.
Conduct security reviews, audits, and threat modeling to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Maintain and improve security policies, procedures, and standards for cloud infrastructure.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security technologies, tools, and practices.
Mentor and guide other engineers on secure coding practices and cloud security principles.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Ruby.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, and network security.
Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEMs, and vulnerability scanning frameworks.
Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native security solutions.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS is a plus.
3–7 years of professional experience in cloud security engineering, DevSecOps, or related fields.
Proven track record of designing and implementing secure cloud architectures at scale.
Experience with incident response, security assessments, and remediation in cloud environments.
This is a remote, full-time position with flexible working hours.
Some overlap with US time zones may be required for team collaboration and security incident response.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with global teams.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
