Job Summary

Cigna Healthcare is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Provider Contracting Senior Analyst to support the development, negotiation, analysis, and management of provider contracts across our healthcare networks. In this strategic role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external provider partners to ensure competitive, compliant, and value-driven contracts that align with Cignas mission to improve health, well-being, and peace of mind.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, a solid understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that support business growth and network optimization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and support negotiation of provider contracts, amendments, and renewals in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Evaluate reimbursement models, fee schedules, and financial terms to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance.

  • Partner with Provider Contracting Managers, Network Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to support contracting strategies.

  • Conduct financial modeling and impact analysis related to contract changes and new provider agreements.

  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and ensure timely execution and implementation.

  • Monitor contract performance and identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and improved provider relationships.

  • Support audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance related to provider contracts.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for provider contracting data, systems, and methodologies.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Economics, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of healthcare contracting, reimbursement structures, and provider networks.


Experience

  • 4–7 years of experience in healthcare provider contracting, network management, financial analysis, or a related role.

  • Prior experience supporting or leading provider contract analysis and negotiations is strongly preferred.

  • Experience working within a managed care organization, health plan, or healthcare consulting environment is an advantage.


Working Hours

  • Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.

  • Standard business hours, with flexibility depending on business needs.

  • Hybrid or remote work options may be available based on role requirements and location.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies (fee-for-service, value-based care, capitation, etc.).

  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
