Cigna, through its Evernorth Financial Operations division, is seeking a highly detail-oriented and results-driven Payment Specialist to support critical financial transaction processes. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payments while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity. The Payment Specialist will work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve payment discrepancies, improve operational efficiency, and support Evernorths commitment to excellence in healthcare financial services.
Process, review, and reconcile high-volume financial payments in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payment transactions, adjustments, and refunds.
Investigate, analyze, and resolve payment discrepancies, variances, and exceptions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounts Payable, Operations, and Compliance.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audits and reporting.
Monitor payment workflows to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
Adhere to internal controls, SOX requirements, and compliance standards.
Respond to internal and external inquiries related to payment status and issues.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities as required.
Strong understanding of financial operations, payment processing, and reconciliation principles.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial data.
Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2–5 years of experience in payment processing, financial operations, accounts payable, or related roles.
Experience within healthcare, insurance, or large corporate financial environments is an advantage.

Standard business hours, Monday to Friday
