Job Summary

Walgreens is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Licensed Remote Pharmacy Technician (Texas Only) to support our pharmacy operations from a remote setting. This role is critical in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services while delivering an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Texas Pharmacy Technician with strong knowledge of pharmacy workflows, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to support prescription processing, medication management, and patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process and review prescription orders accurately in compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations and Walgreens policies.

  • Enter prescription data, verify insurance information, and resolve third-party billing issues.

  • Support pharmacists by preparing prescriptions, managing refills, and ensuring timely order fulfillment.

  • Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams via phone and electronic systems.

  • Handle prior authorizations, medication clarifications, and prescription transfer requests as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

  • Identify and escalate prescription discrepancies or safety concerns to the pharmacist.

  • Meet productivity, quality, and compliance standards in a remote work environment.

  • Participate in ongoing training, quality assurance initiatives, and process improvement efforts.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Active Texas Pharmacy Technician License (required).

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and dosage forms.

  • Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.

  • Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, private home workspace.


Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a retail, mail-order, or specialty pharmacy setting.

  • Prior experience with insurance adjudication, third-party billing, and prescription processing is highly desirable.

  • Remote or call-center pharmacy experience is an advantage but not required.


Working Hours
