Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician

We are looking for a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team and provide technical support for the installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment. As a key player in our healthcare operations, you will ensure that biomedical devices are functioning at their best to support patient care. Installation and Setup:
Install, calibrate, and configure biomedical equipment such as imaging devices, monitoring systems, infusion pumps, ventilators, and more
Ensure that all installations comply with regulatory standards and manufacturer guidelines
Perform initial functionality checks and provide training to healthcare staff on proper equipment use
Maintenance and Repair:
Conduct regular preventive maintenance on biomedical devices, following a scheduled maintenance plan
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, identifying root causes and providing effective solutions
Perform diagnostic tests and checks on biomedical equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards
Document repairs and maintenance activities to maintain accurate records
Technical Support:
Provide on-site technical support to hospital staff and healthcare professionals for troubleshooting and minor repairs
Offer advice and solutions to improve equipment efficiency and performance
Coordinate with suppliers for necessary spare parts, ensuring minimal downtime for critical equipment
Assist in the assessment of new equipment and technologies, providing feedback on performance and usability
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all biomedical equipment meets regulatory standards, including those set by the FDA, ISO 13485, and local health authorities
Maintain documentation for compliance audits and regulatory inspections
Adhere to safety protocols when handling medical devices, ensuring proper maintenance and safe operations
Collaboration:
Work closely with other biomedical engineers, technicians, and medical staff to ensure the seamless functioning of healthcare equipment
Support training programs for medical professionals on how to properly use and maintain equipment
Stay updated on the latest developments in biomedical technologies and equipment standards
Associates or Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
1–3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, repair, or technical support
Strong knowledge of medical devices, diagnostic tools, and healthcare technology
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and IEC 60601
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing various biomedical devices, including mechanical and electrical components
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills to interact with medical staff and provide clear technical support
A strong understanding of safety protocols and patient confidentiality in a healthcare setting
