Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a highly skilled Outpatient Facility Medical Coder with a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for individuals with expertise in coding outpatient medical records and ensuring accurate and compliant billing practices. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, along with a solid understanding of healthcare regulations and insurance requirements. Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze outpatient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of coded data in accordance with applicable coding standards and regulations.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding issues.

• Submit codes for billing and reimbursement, ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory guidelines.

• Maintain updated knowledge of coding changes, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.

• Perform regular audits to verify the accuracy of coded data and billing practices.

• Assist in preparing reports on coding performance and compliance.

• Provide training and support to other team members on coding best practices and guidelines.

• Stay informed about changes in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, as well as relevant billing systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient medical coding.

• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

• Strong understanding of insurance reimbursement processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex medical records.

• Strong communication skills to interact with healthcare providers and billing departments.

• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient medical coding, preferably in a healthcare facility or outpatient setting.

• Familiarity with coding audits, regulatory compliance, and payer-specific guidelines is highly preferred.

• Previous experience working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams is a plus.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position with standard working hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
