Working closely with stakeholders from various business units, you will design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards and reports that support operational excellence and business growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-growing, data-driven company that values innovation, agility, and smart decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business trends, metrics, and KPIs using large datasets to provide insights and recommendations to internal teams.

  • Design and develop robust BI solutions, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.

  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy across all reporting and BI solutions.

  • Provide actionable insights to senior leadership that support strategic planning and performance improvement.

  • Automate data extraction and reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

  • Monitor and optimize BI systems and ensure user adoption across the organization.

  • Document BI processes, best practices, and training materials for end users.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.

  • Strong experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.

  • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of database management systems.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analyst, or similar data-focused role.

  • Proven experience in working with large and complex datasets.

  • Prior experience in a contract or freelance BI role is a plus.

  • Experience working in an agile, fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.

Working Hours

  • This is a remote contract position, but candidates must be based in the Chicago area for occasional in-person meetings or team workshops.

  • Flexible working hours, with a weekly commitment of 30–40 hours, depending on the project phase.

  • Regular updates and virtual check-ins with the internal analytics team are expected.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Google BigQuery).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Adaptable to evolving business priorities and technologies.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility.

  • Access to advanced BI tools and modern data stacks.

  • Opportunities to work on high-impact projects with strategic visibility.

  • Collaborative and supportive company culture.
