Job Summary:
Progressive Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Biller specializing in Radiology to join our dynamic team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the US healthcare system, specifically in radiology billing processes, and a commitment to ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims. As a Medical Biller - Radiology Specialist, you will play a critical role in facilitating the financial operations of our healthcare clients by managing billing, coding, and payment reconciliation activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patient charts and medical records for radiology services provided, ensuring accuracy in coding and billing.

  • Process radiology claims for submission to insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers.

  • Follow up on denied claims, appeal claims as needed, and work with insurance providers to resolve billing issues.

  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies to ensure accurate coding and billing for services rendered.

  • Maintain current knowledge of coding updates, payer requirements, and reimbursement policies in the radiology specialty.

  • Resolve discrepancies in payment processing by reviewing remittance advice, posting payments, and conducting account reconciliations.

  • Generate patient invoices and assist in handling patient billing inquiries, ensuring that billing procedures align with industry standards.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports related to billing, payment, and account status as required by management.

  • Stay informed on changes in healthcare regulations and billing practices, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CBCS, or equivalent).

  • In-depth understanding of the US healthcare billing system, particularly in radiology services.

  • Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

  • Strong knowledge of insurance payer requirements and reimbursement processes for radiology.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external parties.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, Epic, 3M) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and coding, with a focus on radiology services.

  • Prior experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a medical billing department or radiology facility.

  • Proven track record of submitting clean claims and resolving denials efficiently.

  • Familiarity with payer-specific billing guidelines, coding requirements, and appeals processes.
