Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Golang Microservices Developer to join our dynamic remote engineering team. This role involves building high-performance, scalable backend services using Go and modern microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable microservices using Golang.

• Architect RESTful APIs and gRPC services to support web and mobile platforms.

• Collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end features.

• Implement secure, efficient, and maintainable code following modern design principles.

• Write unit tests, integration tests, and contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• Integrate with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for storage, compute, and messaging services.

• Maintain documentation for codebase, services, and technical decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Golang with hands-on experience in developing production-grade microservices.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Solid grasp of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Redis).

• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and deployment using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).

• Experience working with source control systems, particularly Git.

• Knowledge of security best practices in microservice development and deployment.

Experience

• Minimum 3–6 years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 2+ years working with Golang.

• Proven track record of designing and deploying scalable, distributed applications in a microservices architecture.

• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams with remote collaboration tools.

Working Hours

• Flexible working schedule with core collaboration hours between 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM IST.

• Occasional overlap with international teams may be required depending on project needs.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with remote teams effectively.

• Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
