Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a talented and self-motivated Python Scripting Engineer – Automation Tools to join our dynamic remote engineering team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, scripting, and streamlining complex processes across diverse systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Python and related frameworks to build robust automation solutions, tools, and internal workflows that improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Python-based automation scripts and tools.

• Automate repetitive and manual processes across infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and data workflows.

• Work closely with DevOps, QA, and Engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and build scalable solutions.

• Integrate scripts with third-party APIs, system utilities, and enterprise platforms (e.g., AWS, Jenkins, GitLab).

• Maintain and enhance internal Python libraries and reusable automation modules.

• Monitor performance, perform root cause analysis, and debug existing automation scripts and tools.

• Write clear documentation for developed scripts, processes, and tools.

• Follow coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable code.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python, with a focus on scripting for system automation and tooling.

• Familiarity with libraries such as os, subprocess, argparse, json, pandas, and requests.

• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and shell scripting.

• Experience integrating APIs and working with data parsing formats such as JSON, XML, or YAML.

• Knowledge of task scheduling tools (e.g., cron, Airflow) and automation frameworks.

• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.

• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience

• 2–5 years of professional experience in Python scripting and automation development.

• Experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or QA automation is a strong plus.

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous.

Working Hours

• Flexible Remote Work Environment

• Core Collaboration Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST (with flexibility based on time zones)
