SysTechCare Support is seeking a skilled and proactive Linux System Administrator to join our growing IT infrastructure team. As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of Linux-based systems. You will play a key role in system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and enhancing the overall security posture of our IT environment. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in Linux systems and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers across multiple distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.).
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply performance tuning when necessary.
Perform routine system maintenance including OS updates, security patches, and backups.
Implement and manage system security tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
Manage file systems, user accounts, permissions, and storage solutions.
Automate operational tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl.
Support application deployments and ensure system reliability during rollouts.
Maintain documentation for systems and procedures for knowledge transfer and audit compliance.
Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Software Development teams to support infrastructure requirements.
Ensure uptime, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness of all systems.
Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, etc.).
Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and basic programming knowledge (Python, Perl, etc.).
Experience with server virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and basic networking principles.
Knowledge of system security, including firewall configuration, hardening, and access controls.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role.
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a strong plus.
Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Linux+ will be an added advantage.
Standard working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (IST), Monday to Friday
Flexibility may be required during critical deployments or outages (including weekends or night shifts on occasion)
Deep understanding of Linux system internals and boot processes.
Strong ability to automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
Working knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and across departments.
