Job Summary

SysTechCare Support is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Firmware QA Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the quality and reliability of embedded systems and firmware products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans for firmware systems, ensuring products meet high standards of performance and stability. You will collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to identify issues early, replicate bugs, and implement solutions that enhance the overall user experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute manual and automated test cases for embedded firmware across various platforms and devices.

  • Validate and verify firmware functionality, reliability, and performance through structured testing.

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for regression testing.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of software/firmware defects and provide actionable feedback to development teams.

  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and QA teams to align testing efforts with product requirements and release goals.

  • Document detailed test plans, test reports, and defect tracking using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and product backlog refinement.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality assurance procedures.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in firmware/embedded systems testing.

  • Strong understanding of microcontrollers, embedded firmware, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell for automation.

  • Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Jenkins, Git).

  • Working knowledge of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems or firmware QA testing.

  • Prior experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments is preferred.


Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (IST)

  • Flexibility to accommodate overlapping hours with global teams when required.
