Job Summary

SysTechCare Support is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Chef to join our growing hospitality team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, has a flair for creativity, and is committed to maintaining high culinary standards. As an Assistant Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, contributing to menu creation, food preparation, and overall kitchen hygiene.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in food preparation and cooking across a variety of cuisines.

  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to high quality and hygiene standards.

  • Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management and ordering supplies.

  • Follow health and safety guidelines as well as food safety regulations.

  • Help manage kitchen operations during busy hours, including coordination of kitchen staff.

  • Support the development of new recipes and seasonal menu planning.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the kitchen.

  • Collaborate effectively with service staff to ensure timely food delivery.

  • Participate in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.


Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or similar hospitality setting.

  • Prior experience assisting in banquet or large-volume food preparation is a plus.

  • Exposure to multi-cuisine environments is desirable.


Working Hours

  • 6 days a week (rotational weekly off)

  • Shift-based: Morning, Afternoon, or Evening depending on kitchen operations

  • Availability on weekends and holidays is essential


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of food hygiene (HACCP) and safety procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of inventory control and kitchen administration.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods or kitchen technologies.

  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
