SysTechCare Support is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Medical Records Clerk to join our healthcare support team. Retrieve, file, and organize medical records for healthcare providers and administrative staff.
Input and update patient information in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Verify accuracy of medical data including treatment records, physician notes, and diagnostic results.
Ensure records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Handle requests for records from doctors, nurses, insurance providers, and patients, ensuring proper authorization.
Assist in transitioning paper files to digital formats, ensuring complete and accurate data entry.
Perform routine audits and assist with record-keeping quality control processes.
Respond to internal and external queries about patient records professionally and promptly.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive medical information at all times.
Support other clerical functions such as data entry, scanning, copying, and faxing as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry systems.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and data privacy policies is an advantage.
0–1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, office administration, or similar clerical role.
Internship or volunteer experience in a medical records department will be considered a plus.
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Occasional weekend or evening work may be required based on project deadlines or emergencies.
Remote work flexibility may be provided based on performance and role requirements.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify inconsistencies or missing data.
Capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a bonus.
