Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a results-driven, operationally focused, and people-oriented Area Manager to join our dynamic team at the Amazon CJB1 Fulfillment Center. As an Area Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of associates and shift leaders to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. You will be accountable for managing daily workflows, driving performance metrics, and maintaining a positive work environment that fosters employee development and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of hourly associates in designated areas of the Fulfillment Center.

  • Monitor and ensure smooth execution of day-to-day operations, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.

  • Drive productivity while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with Amazons policies.

  • Coordinate shift planning, associate scheduling, and workload management.

  • Identify operational issues and lead root cause analysis to implement sustainable improvements.

  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance management to associates.

  • Partner with other Area Managers and department heads to meet or exceed operational goals.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders for continuous improvement.

  • Lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data-driven operations.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and team-focused environment.


Experience

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain.

  • Experience in people management, preferably in a high-volume environment.

  • Previous exposure to performance metrics and continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.


Working Hours

  • Full-time position with rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be flexible to work in a 24/7 operational environment based on business needs.

  • Understanding of warehouse systems and process flows.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy.

  • Leadership presence and the ability to influence without authority.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
