Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a vigilant, professional, and highly responsible Corporate Building Security Officer to join our growing team. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, clients, assets, and property within high-profile corporate buildings. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling various security protocols with composure and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor building premises through CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and routine patrols.

• Greet and verify identity of all employees, visitors, and contractors entering the facility.

• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious activities, and escalate when necessary.

• Maintain logs and incident reports in compliance with company procedures.

• Inspect doors, windows, and gates to ensure security is maintained at all times.

• Enforce company policies and procedures relating to building access and conduct.

• Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, or building management as required.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify and eliminate potential hazards.

• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professional demeanor under pressure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).

• Valid Security Guard License as per state regulations.

• Excellent observational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in high-stress or emergency situations.

• Physical fitness to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.

• Basic computer literacy for report writing, surveillance software, and access systems.

• Strong ethics, reliability, and integrity.

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar corporate or commercial building security role preferred.

• Experience with security systems, surveillance technologies, or military/law enforcement background is a plus.

Working Hours

• Rotational shifts (Morning, Evening, and Night) or fixed shifts based on building schedule.

• Full-time position with an expectation of 40–48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays if needed.

• Overtime opportunities may be available based on site requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth understanding of building security protocols and emergency response procedures.

• Ability to interact effectively with corporate professionals and high-level visitors.

• Knowledge of basic fire prevention and first aid is advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

• Capability to write accurate, timely, and professional incident reports.
