Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Elevator and Escalator Installer Apprentices (Union). This apprenticeship program offers hands-on training in the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems. Assist in the installation, assembly, and testing of elevators, escalators, and related equipment under the guidance of experienced installers.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevator and escalator systems.
Follow all safety protocols, union guidelines, and company policies to ensure a secure work environment.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule.
Continuously participate in on-the-job training and apprenticeship programs to develop trade skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational school training is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems is desirable.
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work in a structured training program.
Good physical stamina and dexterity to handle lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
No prior experience is required; this is an apprenticeship program designed for entry-level candidates.
Experience in construction, mechanical work, or electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
Standard workweek: 40 hours per week.
Some overtime, weekend, or evening work may be required depending on project needs.
Work locations may vary based on active installation and maintenance sites.
Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
